Shape Your Own BigBlueButton: The New Server-Side Plugin System

Every institution uses BigBlueButton differently, and until now, deep customization often meant maintaining a fork and carrying patches across every release. In this session, Tiago will introduce the new server-side plugin system, which completes the extensibility story started with client-side plugins: a supported way to add custom logic, integrations, and event processing on the server without modifying the core. He will cover the architecture, the security and isolation model, real-world use cases, and how to write your first server plugin. This work is funded by the NLnet Foundation through the NGI Zero Commons Fund, reinforcing BigBlueButton's commitment to open, community-driven infrastructure.
