The World Needs More BigBlueButton: Open, Sovereign, and Built for Education and Collaboration

The world is changing, and so are the global needs for effective online education (virtual classrooms) and collaboration at scale.

What does an effective virtual classroom session look like? It was certainly not what happened during Covid. The traditional video conferencing platforms focus on webcams, and impose a hard ceiling on the engagement that effective learning requires. Effective learning is a pedagogical challenge, not a video problem.

Pedagogy, the science of effective teaching and learning, provides the needed foundational theories: Bloom's Taxonomy, Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development, Desirable Difficulties, and Social Constructivism. Building upon that foundation, Fred Dixon, CEO of Blindside Networks will show how BigBlueButton is evolving to further encompass these theories. Teaser: effective learning is not about adding more AI to the classroom, it's about enabling a learner to have authentic engagement with the educator. Humans learn best from humans.
